The Dwaraka Pitha or Dwaraka matha is situated in the coastal city of Dwaraka(south-west gujarat), Gujarat, housing numerous shrines dedicated to Lord Krishna, his ruling kingdom. It is one of the four cardinals `mathas` said to have been founded by Adi Shankaracharya and is the pascimamnaya matha, or western matha. It is also known as the Kalika Matha, and according to the set of guidelined rules set by Adi Shankara, it is in charge of the Sama Veda. The current head or Shamkaracharya of this order is Swami Svarupananda Sarasvati, who also claims to head the corresponding northern matha at Jyotirmath
